“Dziecinada On the Road” will set off a theatrical journey across Lower Silesia this July.

On 5th of July, a wonderful opportunity awaits to celebrate the start of the summer holidays as a family! The International Children’s Theatre Festival “Dziecinada” will arrive at Stacja Wolimierz as part of its traveling edition, “Dziecinada On the Road.”

“Socrates in the Sandbox” is a joyful, song-filled performance that invites audiences to play and talk – about absolutely ANYTHING. Puppet characters Sophia and Philo sit in a sandbox and chat about Love and Anger, Courage and Fear, Fun and Boredom, Children and Adults. Their questions spark family-style philosophizing, curiosity about the world and oneself, and inspire more questions and shared reflections.

The performance is based on a script by Sława Tarkowska, developed through interviews with children from various backgrounds and regions of Poland, as part of the 2019 Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship.

Małe Mi Theatre is a professional theatre company that is attentive and responsive to the needs of young audiences and their caregivers. It entertains and educates, using refined artistic means without infantilizing content or form. Its productions combine various forms of puppetry, live acting, and original, multifunctional stage design. The theatre incorporates storytelling, movement, and live music – both played and sung.

Małe Mi Theatre collaborates with artists across disciplines — musically with Karolina Cicha, Jacek “BUDYŃ” Szymkiewicz, and Jacek Mazurkiewicz; scenographically with Mikołaj Malesza and Katarzyna Szpilkowska; and has received directorial support from Piotr Bikont. The company has also carried out socio-cultural projects such as “The Wandering Podlasie Tales Caravan” and “Reconstruction of Traditional Podlasie Toys”.

Through its many travels, Małe Mi Theatre has proven itself equally effective on professional stages, in outdoor settings, and in the tiniest performance spaces in the farthest corners of the country.
