Let yourself be surprised by two unassuming characters with a ladder, wandering through the spaces of “Dziecinada” in search of the most unexpected places. It is precisely there – where no one expects art – that Ludo&Arsène create their mini-performances, full of acrobatics, absurdity, and humor.

Their interventions are improvised, tailored to the place and the moment – they have no clear beginning or end. You might encounter them in a square, on stairs, between trees, in trees, on a rooftop… One moment you’re just a spectator, and the next – you’re part of the action. Watch closely – something magical might happen just around the corner.

Be Flat vzw was founded in 2017 by Thomas Decaesstecker and Ward Mortier. Be Flat stands for equality. We want to play for everyone. Our goal is to bring together people from different backgrounds. To connect and inspire by sharing our creativity, through movement and sound. To establish a human connection between performer and spectator, while allowing all spectators their own freedom of interpretation, their own personal experience of the performance. Recurring themes in the work of Be Flat are territoriality, mobility and the strength of the group. Ward (Ghent 1993) and Thomas (Tervuren 1989) first met in 2008 at a parkour gathering in Ghent. Years of shared passion for movement and music naturally led to their first creation Follow Me (2018). An acrobatic in-situ performance that combines freerunning with circus and street theater. Ward has studied Chinese pole and acro-dance at ESAC (Ecole Supérieure des Arts du Cirque, Brussels). Thomas has been trained as an acrobat/handbalancer at Escuela De Artes Circenses Del Circo Del Mundo (Santiago, Chili). Be Flat brought together a collective for their next creation, Double You, a multi-faceted/quirky performance that is the fruit of a shared vibe and vision. Mehdi Delanoeije (1986), Dario Tabakov (1990) and Tars Van Der Vaerent (1992) participate in the project as authors as well as performers. A compatible group with a wide variety of backgrounds. Their shared interests in combination with their respective specialisations result in a wide spectrum of possibilities, and a particular, truly original form of circus.
