A wordless performance, suitable for deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences, as well as non-Polish-speaking viewers.

Some people feel at home wherever they are. Others spend their whole life looking, wandering hither and thither, longing for a place to put down roots and eventually come home to. But what exactly is home? Four characters embark on a quest, full of humor and music. De passant is visual, dancing and energetic theatre. A show as a score consisting of individual notes, which gradually harmonize with each other and in the end become music. De passant (2017) is a wordless performance by director Michai Geyzen, who has been touring for eight years in Belgium and abroad, including Sweden, Norway, South Korea, Liechtenstein, England, Germany, the Netherlands, and France.

Laika, founded in 2001 and rooted in Blauw Vier, creates theatre of the senses. Since 2023, the artistic team has included Aminata Demba, Michai Geyzen and Sien Vanmaele. Together with founding members Peter De Bie and Jo Roets, they shape the company’s creative direction. Five artists – each with a distinct voice, fascination and artistic language – collaborate in shifting constellations, inspiring one another and cultivating a rich creative dialogue.

Laika crafts compelling stories, drawing from classical repertoire and world literature, and brings to life sensory performances – often on location – that aim to engage a broad and diverse audience. The company stands firmly in the world, driven by a deep commitment to human connection, to the planet, and to the society we share.
